Global Perspectives

The first presentation I went to on Thursday was called "Can the Eutopia of the world withour poverty be acheived?" There were four speakers who all spoke to persuade us to help end poverty. These speaches all complimented one another, while leaving a strong point. They stated what poverty is, statistics, and how to help.
The second presentation was a video that was made by Peter Carolla. He presented to us, "The One Who Builds." This film was about a Sudanese refugee, named, Dr. Omer Omer. He was a refugee many years ago and now that he has came to America, he has became a director of a refugee resettlment organization. This film was very eye opening, showing what these refugees go through just to be in our country.
Unfortunately I was not able to stay for any more presentations but I really enjoyed the ones that I was able to see.

  1. Isn't is sad how much trouble people have to go through to get help? We should be so much more willing to help anyone who needs it, and yet so often, we ignore these huge problems.
